My comments are similar to those of Fly Boy Designs.

Its still just a plain (in this case black) background with plain (white) text on it. Search the Asylum real quick for 'Colour Wheel', or something like that. It's a wonderful tool that will help you with your color schemes. I have it bookmarked but Im not home right now.

You make better use of the space your given in your layout. Compare the two for a second. Notice your navigation table? Well your content page in your previous design was about the same size. Kind of makes it difficult to view all your information, know what I mean?

The navigation is rather boring. Come up with something better. Search the net for ideas that you like. Ask questions. Get answers.

Also trigger, reading a few books pertaining to different Photoshop techniques might also be useful. Tutorials found on the web are fine but I think a good overview of the entire program is a good foundation to someone whos just starting out with the program. Tutorials will show you how to create specific things. If you learn how each of the tools work before you create specific things, it might help you in the long run.

Yep, the black and white idea is catchy but needs some accents.
The site that ZOX has up (link above) should answer questions.

Another way to generate colors, which I learned here, at the Asylum, is too average all the colors on a site and use the colors around the average.
That way all the colors used are compatible.
