Well the idea isn't bad and the graphics are good but I think that it lacks certain focus.

You have a really nice metal texture and such but I am not quite sure what to think about it. I kind of have a feeling that I am in an elevator. Then again, not really. You know what I mean? You have this cool looking interface there and it is just sitting there.

I would like to see how you are going to incorporate the interior pages after this.

It's design is nice but simple. But it looks perfect. The metal has no dents, scratches or cracks. The buttons are all perfectly the same size. Sometimes realism isn't perfection.

thanks for the input!
well i am working on the navigation now....so I may be back once that's done.
As for "the buttons are all the same size", well I really don't know what to say, apart from I think that's the way it should be. I've never seen elevator button sized differently by the machine that made them.
Dents and cracks: lets just say it's brand new

cheers

I'll be honest with you, I really don't feel like I'm in a lift (if that's the effect you were going for). I've also got to agree that it seems to lack focus.

I know that the numbers are supposed to represent floors (right?), but as navigational elements they are flawed--that is, you have to mouse over them to find out what they do. I understand that sometimes you sacrifice things for the sake of design, but be careful of what you sacrifice. Maybe you could have a one-word description beneath the numbers as a sort of compromise? Then again, I'm just a usability freak, and it's not a fatal problem; go with what works for you.

I'm also interested in seeing where this is going. I do like the graphics, by the way.

well to be honest, I don't even think I'm going to use it
It just started of as a photoshop exercise....but as I feel exactly the way all of you do about it (I mean the way it would or not work as an interface) I'm having a go at it, just for the sake of it.
