Hi Jasonia. Glad to have you here. OK, here we go.

I'm running WinXP, IE6, 1280x1024

Front Page
The font on the menu is REALLY tiny. Kind of hard to read.
The box with the number in it? What is that? It says 614. Is that visitors?

The logo is pretty cool, but the "Jasonia.com" part is almost impossible to read. It is a dark grey on a dark blue background.

Looking at the code, you have some strange stuff there.

Right after the head tag you have this:

code:
<font face="Verdana" size="1" color="#CCCCCC"><a name="#top"></a>

Number one, why is that there? Two, why are you using font tags and style sheets. Defeats the purpose. Put it all in an external style sheet. This way it is downloaded and put into Cache and it doesn't take as long to view and it cuts down on server resources.

Downloads
I thought these were going to be programs written by you. Might want to change the name to something else. Just a thought.

Portfolio
Almost didn't see the scroll bar there. Might want to rearrange the colors so it is a little more prominent.
Opening the images in a new window is a good thing.

About
Not much there.

All in all, it's not a bad site. Might want to make it a little bigger though. Fix them there font tag weirdness.

Glad to have you aboard. Stick around and check out some of the other threads and FAQ if you haven't already.

Later,
C:\

Welcome, jasonoia. Hope you stick around and join in the fun.

Well, the first thing that strikes me is how small the site is at 1024x768. I understand that with a design like that you pretty much have no choice but to go with a fixed size, but you might consider making it a little bigger.

It took me a while to figure out that those three white boxes were the scrollbar... the only thing that gave it away was the bottom of the text being cut off. I would definitely do something with that so you can see the arrows.

Yeah, I'm going to guess that the number is your counter... but why have it up there right at the beginning, and not even labelled? If it's that important to you, label it. If it's not, tuck it away somewhere. I never went for counters myself, but it's a personal preference.

I would agree with CPrompt about "Downloads"--what about calling it something like "Favorites," or even "Links?"

Now for a few minor quibbles: I noticed on the first page (and the "News" page) that you switch between capitalizing your "I"s and not capitalizing them. I would either stick with regular capitalization or go with all lower case--it's kind of distracting the way it is. Probably won't bother a lot of people, though.

Also, and this is just out of curiosity, why do you feel the need to defend your use of CuteHTML? If you had not made any qualifying comment, most people would never have thought twice. I guess that doesn't really belong in a review, but it struck me as odd--and, to be honest with you, kind of gave me the impression that the author was insecure (a silly little thing, I know, but I'm just like that--don't take it personally).

jasonoia: I tend to agree with the comments made by my esteemed colleagues above (unless some joker slips a review in after Suho1004 and before this one). Some quick points:

1. They have mentioned the small size and I think you'll find it restrictive as your site expands.

2. What is the font you used in the sorry image?

3. You use an iframe and that ruins backwards compatibility with older browsers.

4. Its a very complex table layout you use to get everything to hold together - think about making the one image a background to the page or a panel on it.

5. You need a DOCTYPE.

6. You have STYLE tags inside the body move them into the head or put them in the external stylesheet.

7. Some other metatags would be helpful for search engines.

Overall the site looks fine (nice colours for example) - I'm concerned that it won't be too flexible but by the time it expands to a point where the desing will creak that you will probably have redesigned it a couple of times
