Hi, few ok concepts you have going there, but still alot of work to be done i think, havnt had much of a chance to look at it, but the first two things that stood out to me were:

-The first page you goto i think is mostly unnecessary and will become quite annoying to people, espeically that menu, it might look nice the first time around, but having to wait for a button then trying to click on it - eek! Honestly i think you should do away with the first page but thats my opinion
- Also you NEED to optimise your images, most of them are >20k, which is very bad.... the page would take someone on 56k about 3 days to load in its current state. I saw some that were 35k and more even, for those type of pictures as thumbnails you should be able to get them down to around 5 - 10k each easily without much noticable difference.

Anyhow those i would see as two major problems, but i havnt had a chance to look at any more yet =)

I would advice you against using Shockwave or Flash for important parts of your site. At the moment I don't have any of them installed so I only get to the first page and the only thing I see there is the lady on the right hand side and the gray thing on the left...

Okay i'm at home on cable...lighting speed faster than my T1 line at work...it's still killing me entirely. Can't load it. You know it's a REALLY lovely design it's just the graphics are deadly large. It just needs some minor tweeking and she'll be nice as anything.

Whoa, OK... I'll try to be gentle here.

Veneficuz is right about the Flash. I can see the Flash, but I still think that's got to be one of the worst intro pages I've ever seen. First of all, please get rid of the music. A lot of users hate it when sites suddenly start playing music without warning (especially if they're at work). Second of all, where did that rotating menu come from? That is a usability nightmare. Not only are all of the choices not visible at the same time, but the user has to chase the links just to enter the site. If I wanted a video game experience I would have gone down to the arcade. You want to make it as easy as possible for the user to enter your site--anything that makes it difficult to enter the site is bad.

On that note, I would agree with H][RO and say lose the first page all together. Why not just take users directly to the first page with your products?

You need to learn how to make thumbnails. The reason those pictures look so horrible (and the reason they are so large in terms of file size) is because you just shrunk them down using HTML. The thumbnail size you have there is actually less than a quarter of the size of the larger image--if you shrunk the pics down in Photoshop you would not only have sharper looking pics, but a much quicker download.

[Edit: Just thought I'd explain the above a little more, just in case there was some confusion. What you've basically done is load up the larger image, but then specified a smaller size in your code. The browser then tries to fit this larger image into the smaller space, and you end up with an image that is not only horribly pixelated, but is way too large of a file size. Having the larger image loaded up saves time if the visitor clicks to enlarge the image, but it's better to have your download times spread out--not to mention that the visitor may not need to enlarge the picture if you have a proper, sharp, thumbail. As it is, the only way to get a good look at the clothes is by viewing the larger image, which gets tedious.]

What are those two pics on the left (a painting and a rug?)? They're not clickable, they don't lead anywhere...

Hope that wasn't too rough, but those things just stuck out. If you lost the splash page and made some thumbnails, the site would be improved greatly. Good luck!

OK, I'm not exactly sure what you said there (even though you did say it twice )...

So, as it is, you are only supposed to upload one pic? Well, my advice would be to change that: make it so that whoever updates the page uploads both a thumb and the full-sized pic.

As for having the computer make a thumbnail for you from a full-sized pic, well, I'm not sure about that. I'm pretty sure that there is no such code, unless you're going to teach your server how to use Photoshop (or another image manipulation program). I think changing the interface to accept two pics would be your best bet, honestly.

There is a php library that can resize images. We used it on a school site and I'm pretty sure that it is that library that InI uses on his image gallery site. So it is possible for the server to change the size of images.. Check out these links for more info:

Sketch, dunno if its me, but i just took a look at ya site, loaded totally front page in 30-45 seconds on dial up. I like the design...

here are some tips/suggestions though.

1. The Spinning nav toy is annoying, it looks pretty but is a pain in the ass to click on.

2. Lose the Music.

3. If ya wanna stick with the splash page (it looks nice, but is useless and takes up load time)
do the following.

a.add a loading bar to it so people can see how long its going to take to load
b.give them an alternative entry ie (press this button to skip intro type link)

3.image optimizing DO IT!!!

overall ya have a nice site just a few (but important) issues Need to be taken care of. Fix the stuff pointed out an ya got the makings of a VERY nice site.

Well, welcome Sketch. I have to say this once, to me young Indian women are very lovely. OK, anyway.

Couldn't argree more with what was already said. That rotating nav thing has got to change. I had a heck of a time grabbing one. When I tried, I missed it and had to wait for the right one to come around again. Very tiresome.

On the interior pages you have a side nav that has "GENERAL Payments/Delivery Queries/Suggestion ". Right under that you have some artwork. Why? You don't sell those things do you? Or am I just missing something with their signifigance?

I am not sure if I really like the border around the items. It looks on the "professional" side, but I think you could be a little more creative about it.

On the good side however, the colors are nice. And most of the graphic work looks really good.

Glad to have you aboard.
