.....we have recently launched a design portal: http://www.ventilate.ca ..... please have a look, any and all criticisim / comments are welcome. The portal focuses mainly on providing a daily list of URLs for those seeking design inspiration ...... there is also a monthly issue posted with interviews on people within design-related fields (ie, music, architecture, web, graphical, etc). Let me know what you think ...... I'd also be very interested in hearing about who you would like to see interviewed in future issues.

thnx!

Welcome to the Asylum ventilate Take a look around the reception room while you wait for the pills.

About the site.. First of all get rid of the scrollbars. The page isn't big enough to need any of them imo. You should aslo change the font in the Flash thing. On my monitor it is really blurry and hard to read. I think the little link bar at the bottom of the page should be placed closer to the main part, maybe right bellow the news area? If you are going to have lots of information on the page that people are going to read you should also make the page 'higher'. You might also consider adding an option for people to print the interviews etc...

You should also add a DOCTYPE to the page to make it compilant with the new standards and to make sure it renders correctly in most browsers... If you were to redo the page I would advice you to use <divs> instead of tables. It would then be easier to make the design liquid and it is easier to read the code as well... Instead of having all of the style information (width, height etc) in the html page you should use CSS to store that info...

arrghhh

HSOD!

(horizontal scrollbar of death!)

as has been said, there's definatelly no need to take up so uch room with such little content. It's hard to really say much more at the moment, as I have to keep scrolling back and forth to see the whole thing,
