Make it compilant to other browsers, not only IE5.5+! There are a lot of people using something other browsers (among them me) and they might want to view your site. But when they are greeted by a message like that they are sure to turn away and surf along to another site.

Even if all of the code on your page doesn't work in the other browsers it should be viewable with all major browsers. There is a little something about this in the faq as well...

Agreed I couldn't view your site, and I wasn't about to go into your code and figure out how to get in, since apparently you don't want me there.

I loved it, very nice, maybe a wee bit dull coloured (not compared to your last though wasnt it pure black or am I thinking of someone else. Didnt if have a lot of loading bars ? )

But, the very nice menu on the left needs a scrollbar, yea , ye know the dragable/dragable wonders ? I kept dragging where it should be with my mouse.

And I was thinking .. it doesnt need it, but I doubt it would be too hard to make the menus slide up and down smoothly so you can see which button is opening the window. If I had free time which I dont, I'd give it a go to see if I could. ah well .. its dhtml yea ? thought so, nice

oooh, just notice something, when I resized the browser it hogged the resources badly. Maybe set an interval so the function thats on onResize only works every one second if ya get me ? you can do it with clearTimeout and setInterval .. wait a minute Im sure you can figure it out, why am I going on ... ?

I will look at making it more compliant, but just looking for some 'primary' feedback on style etc at the mo...

Hugh,

Explain a bit more what you meant by the 'draggable' thing..

What he means by the draggable thing is the actual bar (or box) that appears in between the scroll arrows at the top and bottom--that thing that you can click on and drag rather than clicking on the arrows themselves. Look over to the right of your screen and you should see one there now. In the content area, you apparently do have a scroll bar, but the bar itself is invisible (in other words, it is draggable, but you kind of have to guess where to click--not a good thing).

From the very start (or at least for as long as I've been watching you), you've developed only for IE 5.5+. Also from the very start, I (and many others) have told you that this is an irresponsible design choice, unless you feel comfortable alienating people like Veneficuz and WarMage. I must say, though, that I am pleased to see that you are thinking of looking into compliancy this time around.

In addition to browsers, though, I would definitely look into designing for lower resolutions as well (at least 800x600). At 800x600, the navigation gets cut off, and since you don't have a global scroll on the page there is no way I can get to it. Very bad, in my opinion.

As for style, etc., I don't really like the borders (the zig-zag things). For some reason, they set me on edge--it's just not a very pleasant experience.

Um, I guess that's about it in terms of criticisms. Very interesting navigation. I do like it, but I like it less knowing that it only works in IE 5.5+... the same goes for your scripts. I suppose it is your choice if you want to develop only for IE, but others out there may want a little more flexibility.
