Yes, indeed, that is pretty fucking stupid.

Especially since there wasn't anything that I saw there that would be worth anyone's time to steal....

*goes to "view" menu*
*hits "source"*
*looks at silly right click script*

Anyway, three points to be made here:

1. Reviewing a site often involves looking at the source. Don't hide the source when you want people to look at a site for you.
2. Hiding the source is easily circumvented, and is an extremely amateur web "design" practice. Don't do it.
3. Hiding the source by "disabling" right clicks frustrates users because there are a lot of different things they might right click to do (for instance, they might right click a link to open it in a new window, or to add your page to their favorites list).

Aside from that, the page has some severe layout issues in IE 6, and the images, I'm afraid, simply aren't appealing. Sometimes the browser freezes shortly, so I think there's a script running somewhere that's really slowing things down. (ah, it's the status bar script. it freezes the entire browser while an animation is carried out in the status bar. that's not cool.)

The colors don't work together, the fonts aren't thought through, the images don't match up with each other, and it's overflowing with cheap effects (photoshop filters, strange scrollbar colors, overflow:auto, transparency and animation).

I know it's not the review you were hoping for, but you really need to go back to the drawing board and think things through more carefully.

You spelled "killerkolvvn" wrong in the title graphic.

And for the love of God, get rid of that ridiculous right-click script. It only makes you look extremely amateurish and pisses people off. Unless that's what you were going for, of course, which is a distinct possibility judging by the rest of the page.

FYI, I am generally a very helpful person when it comes to giving reviews, but I happen to share Jason's sentiments on this one. You want us to help you out and then you throw that in our faces? Sorry, this is the best you're going to get from me.

your menu covers part of your i-frame requiring i enlarge my browser window.. make the i-frame resize - make it liquid -

when i tried to click the links, it took a while for them to show as links ..
the scrollbar only works sometimes..

ok, slime has identified the problem.. the script that has that annoying running text in the status bar

liquify your design and dump the staus bar script and your site will be more user friendly. if i had encountered your page just surfing the web, i'd have left quickly - too hard to get into

I like dark colors in a web page, but dark blue on black is hard to read.
Also, when I click on "Links", the box that contains the menu covers half the Links text with blackness.

It is improved. However, I don't claim to be a great designer, but as a user, I prefer not to have new pop-up windows, like your Forum link (except for some things like definitions or brief explanations). Just use the same window.

ok, I remeoved the right click protection a while ago, I just forgot to remove it from the main page.
and I'm going going to have my forum inside the iframe, you would have to scroll left and right and up and down if I did that.
and by "stealing" the code do you feel special? not that hard.

Homicidal Jester: I do not think it was the "right-click protection" that set most people off here--at least I know that isn't what did it for me. Granted, it is highly doubtful if the minimal "benefits" of right-click protection outweigh the drawbacks, but let us leave that argument aside for the moment. It wasn't so much what you did, but the way you did it. Not only did you disable a basic element of browser functionality, but you spit in the user's face while doing so. Had you merely disabled right-clicking and popped up a single alert notifying the user of that fact I would have thought, 'Hmm... bad design decision,' and then told you so as part of my review.

While we're on the subject of right-click "protection," I would like to say I am glad to see that you removed it. You do realize that it protects nothing whatsoever, right? Code can still be viewed through View Source, images can be swiped through screen caps (and other methods). Without right-click capability, though, browsing can be more tedious. I hope this is why you decided to remove the script, and not simply as a result of the backlash here.

Right-click is silly anyway.

View-Source: There's the source.

PrtSc: There's the images.

Wow, that was tough.
