Hiya all from Art Glass Art... new at this and also can't claim to have seen every GIMP how-to there is, anyway oftentimes what you have in mind is not in anybook, so, we must stretch the gray matter to get the had in mind outcome from graphics manipulation software and this is largely what we did to get results we wanted.
I hope Art Glass Art has not stepped on any toes as far as the provision of tutorials for Gimp are concerned and I'd appreciate some thoughts from users about Art Glass Art website. TIA

As I'm very interested in Gimp tutorials this sounds interesting, however a link wouldn't hurt

Hehe..

I find it kinda funny that you went through the trouble of a google search, but didn't check the profile

As far as "stepping on any toes" don't worry - there really aren't any toes to step on. Even if someone has made similar tutorials for Gimp, you would still be well within your rights to make your own.

As for the site:

first thing I have to say is: OUCH!

The background is seriously distracting, and while have the "neato" factor to a small extent, is all-in-all rather ugly in this application.

Small, white, serifed text is probably the *worst* possible thing to try to put on top of such a background.

With those two things combined, you have essentially comitted usibility suicide. I couldn't possibly read enough of the tutorials to give any feedback on them or get any use from them - it gives me a headache (and that's not an expression - I mean that literally).

I would highly recommend that you reconisder such a drastic background, as well as the white serifed text.

I don't really have time at the moment for anything more indepth - will stop back later.

I agree with DL - your website is a serious health hazard. The background absolutely has to go.

Well, I'can't really add something to what's said above other than that I'm actually dizzy after trying to read the alien tutorial. I'm sorry but this concept you have going does not work, at all. And that's not the tutorials fault, it's completley unreadable

You simply have to lose the background and setup something that works with text, not against it.

hmm.. the background had the same effect like this one to my eyes... :P
red on green; pink on pink; too miniatured background ... & I think you didn't use half of the power GIMP provides
makes me, err, stun...

about the code I have to say: your problem is the same like mine was: use CSS instead of a creepy table layout! it's just easier to handle font, background and position attributes...
