You're sorry?

Why are you sorry? -- I just closed your page.

I'm curious as to what this site is about thought. It seems to be community focused, but it's got your name plastered all over it. It has pages about you and well, it just doesn't seem to have any definable or solid purpose/goals.

You seem to be trying to mix a personal site with a community site, which I really can't see working too well. I could be wrong, but I wouldn?t want to be part of a community that felt like it was interlaced with someone personal website offering basic web design services. It?s all just a little too egotistical for my liking.

If it is meant to be a community website, I'd be asking a lot of questions about the content as well. You have sections of the site devoted to obvious web development topics, a poll about car manufacturers, a forum with topics from sex to computer games and a "chat box" which seems pointless given the forum and a whole bunch of other things that just don't really tie in to form any kind of coherent whole.

Quite frankly, it's a mess. At least, that's how I see it. I think you should decide weather or not you want to build a community website or a personal one and ditch anything that doesn?t fit in well. Perhaps you could build 2 different sites, one fo you, and one for "them".

Hey Dustin, long time no see (that could be because I haven't been around, of course). Exactly how many user names have you registered here? You might hold a record...

Just some general thoughts... or thought, I guess. That thought would be "busy--way too busy." I have no idea where I should start with this page. There's just too much going on. I understand the desire to get a lot of information in above the fold, but I think there's just too much to process (at least for me). Your main menu is in a logical position, I suppose, but the text is miniscule. I think it might have been the last thing I actually saw.

It probably also doesn't help that everything is jammed together. It feels very claustrophic.

Never understood why people put date/time on their website. Even if you don't have a clock/calendar in the house, you've still got one on the computer, right?

That's just some basic stuff. Nothing in-depth, but maybe it will be helpful.

Hey Suho1004,

It has been a while. Believe it or not the reason I have so many usernames is because I seem to forget the passwords/users altogether. To me, it doesn't seem cluttered. I have a forum, chatbox, poll, a couple things on virus's, I have downloads, and I allow whoever visits the site to upload and all that good stuff. It's a personal development server/personal website. Im not trying to win any awards by it.

Thanks for your imput.

Well, if it's a personal development server designed to please you, and it succeeds in that goal, then I'd say you're all set.

Just out of curiosity, were you looking for anything in particular from us, or did you just want general opinions?

general opinions, the server is slower than molasses n January, I kinda like the whole blue 3d box thing you got goin on cept the corners need a fierce cleaning up.

other than that, foo, it's a personal thingie, of no real interest, no real need to sign up or post anything there.

have fun with it
