Wasnt sure as to where to post this, but this was the closes section i could post this message in. Since my proff. told me to validate my site under "XHTML 1.0 Strict". Now he did not give us any overview as to how to use this validator. Now i went through some of the documents on the site. And they just didnt seem to explanatory to an extent.

Its kind of a silly question, but how on earth do i clean out the 55 errors that this validator deteced. Now i tried to fix some problems, at least to my knowledge. But once I change my code, and re-validate. The thing would get rid of the ol prob, but in return give me a new error.

Any help or resources would be much appreciated thx !

The key is understanding what is meant by the errors. Granted, that's not always an easy thing They have a beta version out with a little bit better explanations...don't have the link handy at the moment.

Basically, you have to understand how XHTML strict works. That takes time and practice.
There is a good explanation of the basics here - http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/html/xhtml/xhtml1.html

Read it through once or twice.

If you have more specific questions about the errors you get, or why you can't code things certain ways, come on back and ask.

For the record, something like this should go in the 'stupid basic html' forum. Doesn't matter overly much though =)

Here's the beta validator that DL-44 mentioned: http://validator.w3.org:8001/

It gives pretty descriptive error messages about the problems on a page. That might help you. If there's a specific error or two that you can't figure out, let us know and we can help.

"Stupid basic HTML" is only the name of the HTML forum here. No one's insulting your coding skills. =)
