Hey, I have question about designing a companies site.

I have been fighting with the battle of if I should design the site using all CSS or actually use a layout using tables.

One of the biggest problems that I am having really is finding a drop down menu system that I can incorporate using tables.
This has drawn my attention to possibly using total CSS for the site.

So, what are your thoughts? Should I use CSS totally or stick to the traditional table layout?
If it's tables, then how about a link to a nice FREE dHTML drop down menu that can be placed within a table. The brothercake is free for non commercial use (as is most of the ones I've seen on hotscripts.com) plus it is a mess when you put it into a table and the browser window is resized.

Thanks for any comments and/or suggestions!

Go totally CSS for as much of the site as is plausible.

There's no good reason not to, assuming the company doesn't require total NN4.x / IE4 support.

not really. they are pretty much leaving it up to me on that one.

I'll work it up and see what happens with it.

Thanks.

I almost forgot - I've got a very simple drop down demo over here -
http://www.in-dented.com/temp/drop_down_menu.html

It is based on Mr Max's layer visibility script, with some simple modifications.

After looking over DL-44's recommendation, I would say go with that one. The script for the one I am using is much larger and they both do the same thing.

One suggestion: make an unordered list of it, because that menu, as it is now, won't degrade very well.

Actually Ramasax, the menu from Brain Jar worked easier for me. I'm not really concerned about file size at this point. Client has a ton of space and we are not using a 1/3 of it.

HZR: Working on doing that now. Have to do some rearanging with the CSS file but that should be simple enough.

Thanks for the links and info!

Just so you know.

well you're not being a party pooper. I was using that method earlier. Just had so many problems
when the browser window was resized is all.

i need to "fiddle" with it a little more though. Didn't spen a *whole* lot of time on it.

Thanks for the reminder though
