Hello, I would really appreciate any feedback that you can give for this project. I only have one photo to work with and I am supposed to make it look like it's moving... Kinda tough, but a fun project. Here's what I have so far:

Well... don't know if you're still working on this....
but to beef it up, I suppose you could make a new gradient.... from white to transparent.... clip it in the desired manner... and have it very partially fade in... then back out...
see what I'm saying?
Of course, it'd be quite tedious... you'd have to do a crap load of em... you wouldn't want them showing for more than a second.

Good idea, but I found that just using alpha transitions with bits and pieces of the waterfall was sufficient.

One important note - when I created mist moving around the base of the falls, some of the image pieces I was animating and alpha transitioning started looking very odd. I couldn't figure it out until I realized I needed to put the mist layers above the animation effects. Muuuccch better....
