Topic: Greymatter or other blog into Flash? (Page 1 of 1)

OK, here is a question that has popped into my head recently about taking a weblog like Greymatter and loading that file into a dynamic text field in a Flash movie.

Could you do that? Can you load an .html doc into a Flash movie in the same manner you load a .txt into it or would I have to modify the cgi script to create a .txt file instead of an .html file?

I'd really like to load my blog into a Flash scroller similar to the one I am creating now...

I know *of* graymatter, but I don't know anything *about* it, how it works. I think you would have problems loading an entire html document. All the header, body etc tags would be wierd I think.

xml maybe? It's building momentum and Flash supports it. I don't know jack about xml, but maybe that's an area you want to look into? Read some superb tutes at www.ultrashock.com, and there's something at www.flashmagazine.com about how they get dynamic content into their pages.

Krets, it can be done (loading HTML into flash anyway, not sure about the specifics of the site you're referring to), my friend Jim at InnovativeFX used it on a site and sent me a demo file that has a Flash movie loading an HTML doc with just some minor changes (no head tags, etc.). krets there is some talk over at 'blogger' about making the all the templates loadable in flash5. I run blogger currently on my site, but it isn't in flash5, i'm hoping to start on my flash site real soon, and if blogger will be in flash then.
