Does anyone here have experience with blender? Iím working on the very beginning of a project involving the rendering of little space ships.

I picked up blender the other night, however Iím very new to the field of 3D. Any general recommendations?

[its been awhile]

You will no doubt get told by someone else, so I'm getting in before them. RTFM

The manual is about the best place to start for learning a program. I will contain all of the menu commands, and what you can do with this program, and how to go about it if your lucky.

Next: visit sites like or and look up some tutes on blender.

If you can't find them there...I performed these two searches on google and altavisa for you, see what you can find in there.

cheers mate...and have fun learning 3D

In the beginning, there was the word...and the word was 'God', although by the time it reached the other end of the phone line... the word was 'Gznd'

One of the key points of Blender is that it's free, as long as you don't want a manual. The manual costs extra.

So, it's entirely probable that he doesn't have the 'M' in RTFM

Here are some blender sites with tutorials and more links...

That should be enough to get you started anyway.
