Ok, recently I came across this website that uses 3D graphics (the program is 3D studio max) On this website, the webmaster had a link to this other site (http://arthurmount.com/)

I dont know what kind of graphics you would call what is on this website but I would like to know how the webmaster of arthurmount made them. The graphics are simple,yet, I'm drawn to them (no pun intended). The webmaster that gave this link said that she "isn't as good as Arthurmount." I think she was implying that a 3D program was also used to make the graphics on Arthurmount.com? I'm not really sure. If I'm wrong,maybe you can tell me what she meant (the website is http://www.illustriouz.net/)

Anyway,I'm sorry if this post seems a little off topic but I did not know where else to post this. I would really like to know how these graphics are made. Did the webmaster of arthurmount use 3D studio max? (haha) Or did he use some other program? Can this program that the person used on this website be downloaded for free? Or do I have to download a demo and pay for it later? I would really like to know what these graphics are called and what program I can use to make them.

Any decent 3D app should be able to make those tubes.

I run a quick render in blender to give you an example.

All the graphics that I found on arthurmount.com are Flash vector illustrations. Normally, this type of vector illustration is done by 'tracing' over a photograph with the Flash tools, and coloring in the shape. It requires significant artistic ability since you're not just tracing, but creating a new drawing over the original image to capture the essence of the scene/person.

It's pretty good stuff, imo. Arthur's got some skill.

For the most part, though, there's no 3D in the procedure at all. It's just talent at 2D vector illustration.
