hello!
I need help modelling a mine. rock and stones...how do i do this in a simple way??
This might seem easy but i really dont know how to do it...does anyone of you have any suggestions or special techniques???
I suppose its much of an texturing question...but i must have something to texture...

bump: yeah, might work but not only bump...
displacement mapping: it might work...yeah it problably will...i'll check that out!
but after reading some tutorials: i will try the simple noise modifier...maybe with displacement
and bump mapping....

Indeed, the noise modifier, soft, slight amounts, several noise modifers, so you get noise on noise on noise. Meshsmooth, make sure that your base shape has not that many polys, so the noise happens in large chunks, then meshsmooth, iterations 1 or 2, noise, noise ,meshsmooth, iterations 1 or 2. Material...whatever the hell you want, but do a noise map for the bump map, just to give it that final rough finish...short, sweet, not sure it will work cause I don't have access to max at the moment.
