Another 3d web pioneer (blaxxun/blacksun) bites the dust. In a sense
its sad to see these guys going. remember first
seeing their 3d world with integrated chat years ago
and thinking "wow"....next thing you know i was
building my first vrml world (albeit a crap one) and
my first 3d models (just as bad, in some corel app). http://www.blaxxun.com/

p.s. hope you guys don't mind that i post
about 3d worlds here..i know it's not really
100% on topic although it does involve building and
texturing models - how low can your polys go.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.

don't forget 3dml! the only one that does not require a single line of programming code, just mark-up tags... hard to believe??
(although you can program animations etc). if you so desire...this is picture from a very talented german builder
name lemming:

p.s. you can even create animations in 3dml using markup tags...i'm not kidding....sort of like dhtml without the javascript.........or you can use the full blown scripting language....i created a spot (or world) without scripting that is fully animated as a proof of concept.

3dml can't really use javascript that well.
You can call js functions thru an href but you can't manipulate
objects using js or pass variables back to 3dml. for example, an object could be
the entire spot (world), the sky, the ground, blocks, etc.

to manipulate objects in 3dml (to scale, to rotate, to change, to animate)
you use an embedded language called roverscript base on simkin. simkin
has languages based on jave or c++ AFAIK. doing something simple like
replacing a block with an other (block=3d model) can be done with tags without
scripting (but scripting is much more powerful..limitless really)

for simkin info: http://www.simkin.co.uk/About.html

for downloading rover (nagware) http://www.flatland.com/download/nsinstall.html
or http://www.flatland.com/download/ieinstall.html
(ns install adds a plugin)

documentation is lacking (flatland has only 2 people left to keep this going) http://xuriel.com/docs/3DML_reference.pdf

laisse moi savior ce que tu penses.
thanks
