We have done so.

ok....dummy objects look like a cross if you look at the from any plane angle. two ways to create one. Create>>Helpers>>Dummy, or go to the helpers tab on your tab bar if you use that and click on the cross. Anyway. you can link to a dummy the sdame way you would any object. ou can open up a schematic view and link the two objects that way, or you can use the 'Select and Link' tool on your Main Toolbar (an icon of two boxes with a chain between them, on the left). just select your object you want to link to your dummy with this tool selected, then you will be trailing a lined behind your mouse cursor connecting to your object, then click on your dummy object. Both object will turn white moentarily to show that hey have been linked. Repeat as neccesary.

Hope this helps

[edit]Whoops! I acutally read your entire post this time: You need to open up your camera's motion parameters window (on that handy little ocmmand panel). I tend not to use cameras with targets unless the camera is going to reman where it is and just swivel aorund. Just try using a free camera, link it to hte dummy to grab it's motion, and then, once you've brought up the mtoin dialogue for hte cmaera, click on it's rotation controller, and click on the little button that allows you to change it's controller. Change it to 'look at', then select the dummy as the target. Now...not only will your camera follow the dummy, it'll always look at it to. I'm assuming you got one of those tutorials which starts with those immortal words 'I'm assuming you have a basic knowledge of 3D Studio MAX'

Make sure you have no background programs running except essential system things, ummm...up your virtual memory. Partition off a 50 meg drive, and tell winblows to put its swap file there, and that's the only thing that goes on that drive. Can't think of any others off the top of my head.

ok, new rule for 3dsmax pong:

the max files past your last serve are not required to be online.... you can request them thru email, but the server space adds up after a while...

I can handle that....the MAx files aren't that big anyhow, but yeah...it will add up, especially in a 8 turn match.

Plus...i tihkn naming ocnventions qwould be good so people can't get sonfused. Say along the lines of (and this is just an example) Skaarjj vs Ini - Skaarjj - Serve 1. Might require some remaning to fit the net (IE: no spaces), but that is very clear as to what it is without breaking max file length restrictions
