hello all!

is there a way to use an access-db on a linux server wit php?

As far as I know Access has not yet been ported to Linux.

You should be able to use odbc to connect to a remote Windows box that has Access. Or use php on a Windows box, but I don't think that it can be done the way you are asking here.

There is a package of programs for Linux that duplicates the capabilities of MS-Office. Unfortunately, I don't remember its name.

However, I would suggest that you convert the Access Database to a friendlier format (such as comma separated values) under Windows and then port the ascii file to linux and convert it to a Linux based database there.

i´ll give it a try, but that´s not really the solution i´m looking for. it´s always the same problem. -> Microsoft sucks sometimes! ;-)
