Dont really know if this question is appropriate here but screw it i wont know if i dont ask.

I need to set write permissions for an ftp folder on my server my host is a lazy ass and I cant get ahold of him . Can anyone help me. I have pretty good knowledge of my stuff but I cannot figure this one out.

I've done this many times through WS FTP, if the server is a unix/linux box you should be able to do it by chmod through your ftp-prog. If its a Winblows server I suppose it's different since that doesn't support chmod.

I don't remember the actual setting for writable, but take a look here http://www.wdvl.com/Internet/UNIX/Intro/chmod.html

Thanks man I just did a chown user and changed owenership of the file to the user i was having issues with. kind of a hacky way of doing it but i got it done and it works.
