This may have already been asked but searching for it didn't turn up any results...

I've been reading through many of the PSPong development & ideas topics but I only saw Photoshop related talk happening. Why does it only have to be Photoshop? Why not Paint Shop Pro and Gimp as well. Hell, why not through all the popular design apps in there. Flash Pong could be a bit of a laugh. Illustrator & Painter would work just as well too.

Again, if this has already been asked that I'm sorry, I couldn't find it...

One other thing. Warez. You are getting someone to write up a huge legal disclaimer to protect the site against people using illegal versions of PS in the matches right? And you might want to be as up-front as to ask the people designing the site if thay have fully legal software too.

Dracusis: All good questions. I'll give my thoughts and then perhaps other people may want to jump in.

PS only? - I think, at least initially, its best to keep things focused on PS although if we keep this kind of flexibility in mind there is no reason why it couldn't handle file formats generated by other software although it might get hellishly complex trying to match up players (although thinking out loud we could get them to specifiy which graphics packages they want to use which might work OK). I think the real bonus is the swapping of PSDs which we can all get our dirty hands on and see how it was done I'd imagine it might be a little frustrating seeing a great return and not being able to open the file to find out how it was done. However, it is doable and I quite like the idea - it might get a broad range of people interested and some smaller graphics software firms might be inspired to throw in some prizes on some matches to inspire good players to have a go and really show what their software can do (I could imagine that the developers of PSP and PI might want to demonstrate how far they've come in front of an audience of diehard PS fans - they might win some converts). Thoughts?

Legal stuff - you are correct that this needs to be addressed, esp. if we are ever going to get sponsorship, and as things progress another thread dealing with legal matters needs to be drawn up - I touched on things like transfer of copyright and illegal software is another issue. Clearly people can lie but we'll have covered our backs. Anyone good at drafting these kind of things?

Good questions and if anyone has anymore put them in here or the appropriate thread no matter how small or odd they may seem.

no matter what, if it can output jpegs, it should work...
we'll have to see. but we, the coders, will keep it flexible enough...
