First it's too big.
2nd. I've somehow clipped it at the bottom.
3rd. The 'average' bkgrnd doesn't work all that well.
4th. a bit too bright me thinks. Anything else? <lol>

Yes... I think I reduced the palette too much...

Xd: When I try to save it as a gif... the colors get lost. I'm just now trying these as jpegs to see if they look any better.

let's put a name with it, buddy...

and try increasing your colour depth on the gif.

Name you say? Kinda like "Threep" myself... how about you? *L

I tried adding a name to it sometime back...couldn't get what I wanted... and walked away from the whole thing and then just the day started working on other aspects of it...levels etc. so the name may wait a while.

As for increasing the gif palette... even at 256 it comes out looking pretty chunky... so unless there's some other secret to gif palettes... I think it's have to be a jpeg but smaller. I think the smallest of the bunch is pretty much ok...with the exception of the bkgrnd of course.

I was btw a big 3rdp fan and I knew it was *work* coming up with that stuff on a regular basis. I liked them all but the one that really had me spewing started out with "You da man! " I'm still LOL...

I don't uinderstand why everyone has such a hardon about your name on your sig....if it's in your post, we know who you are already

jamie - ok, it doesn't need a name, but it needs to be a 'signature' - maybe it says something special for noJive, but to me, it just looks like a floating head on a page.

all i'm really suggesting is that it is more of a 'signature piece' than just a pic.

I just never quite got the overabundance of 'needs your name' comments. Wasn't meant specifcally for anyone here

Use a PNG for all the levels of color you want, plus transparency!

OK... about the gif. What am I missing here. 256 max colour right? Well when I convert the original to a gif I get the results and or worse than what you see in the very first image...top of page. When I reduce the palette the definition between each colour becomes more obvious. Should be g/blurring more or what?

As for some sort of meaning... well I'm constantly rolling my eyes in a similar fashion and lol a lot so, it's somewhat representative of my attitude. Also Fats is one of my favorite characters. I love the music and the time period and the original is an original of mine...sort of in-so-far-as it is my pencil crayon interpretation of an album cover for 'ain't misbehavin' which I did more than 20 years ago now. And that he says as he rolls his eyes and laffs aloud... is probably far more than you ever wanted to know about what's behind that particular signature.

But seriously... what am I missing with the gif stuff. as a small jpeg it just seems to be better quality.

Hope you don`t mind me playing with your face, Nojive. I took a crack at it and it looks ok on my monitor( save for some sloppy erasing of the bg) wanted to see what it looks like here...
