You might ask yourself why I made my name even less legible than usual... just wait until the gif's fully loaded and you'll find out.

Another interesting site is http://www.ambigram.com . The design isn't that great, though.

It's nowhere near finished, I'd just like to know if anybody's got any suggestions on what to do with the shapes before I start on the fancy stuff. If you'd like to try something on your own i'd suggest drawing it with pen first. Switch between CAPITAL letters and normal letters if you can't figure it out... it's a fun thing to try.

and, umm, how exactly do you pronounce your name, I've always pronounced it mah-qua (with all long vowels), but then I remember somebody saying that [you said] it was mahj (short a) and then qa (q pronounced like c, accented a)

I did it anyway, it aint animated though, but the text is the same rotated 180. Anywho its a dialup friendly 0.7kb (each)

Whoa... no offense was meant, mahjqa, really. I was just noting that it is pronounced quite differently from the way I would have imagined. You've got every right to pronounce your name however you want.

mahjqa .. as always great sig .. but I do have a problem with it .. the rotation of the sig makes it big .. there is a lot of dead space between your post and the border color between the sig

Uh, mas, you okay? You sound like you're hyperventilating, man

anyway.. another way of creating those mirror images is

1) make a white background
2) add your name (or anyone's) with black on a new layer
3) merge the two layers
4) duplicate that layer, and rotate the top one 180 degrees
5) set the top layer to 'screen' and move it until you've got something that looks right. if it doesn't work, try another font or turn capslock on.
6) fiddle a bit with it until it looks right.

ohkay... hokay.... thats nice. I was a bit dissapointed by your first post... it just didnt seem like a finished sig... and i am glad to see that it was not finished.

Well, I tried this out and I got the design. Now I just gotta make it spin. Are there any tuts to do this quicker, because the way that I was doing it was taking for ever.

Duck, when you make it transparent, make sure your backgorund colour is RGB 43,04,04...tha'ts the matte colour for here, and it stop white-jaggies-from hell.

Duck.
To make it smoother just use more frames.
Divide the amount of frames with 360. now you have 360/8 = 45.
Try 10 frames (360/10 = 36 degrees = smoother motion)

I guess I really only need 180 degrees though. Right?

Is there any way that I can speed it up?
