The red X is executed without flaw, and the use of two colors for the border really livens up the image. Also, the stark contrast between the red and white adds an extra "umphf!" that is would be otherwise lacking

Yes, there is a red X there, cfb... very clever. But if you'll look at the image properties you'll see that he's trying to include an image from Geocities, which does not allow external linking. If you copy and paste the URL to the address bar, you'll be able to see the graphic.

Patrick: to make it easier on everyone, you might want to change that to a straight link (and then people can just cut and paste, 'cause I don't think the link will work either).

As for the image itself... well, the text looks a bit... fuzzy. Kind of like the anti-aliasing didn't work too well for the small font size. Sometimes I'll render text at a large size and then shrink it down--that might help. The background graphic itself seems OK, I guess, although I'm not sure what it has to do with ending chaos.

[Edit: Well hey, isn't that nifty? After going to check out the graphic and posting here, the graphic now appears in the thread... what's up with that? Does that have anything to do with caching?]

Suho, Patrick: Sorry. I didn't realise that it was Geocities. To get around that, rename the extension to .txt, and they won't notice for a couple of months. After that, you need to re-upload, or get a new account, because they often ban your account. BUT, my personal favorite image host for sigs is Pyxz.com, of couse, Michael has a nice sig hosting site too.

I'm ignorant. Sorry. But, now that I see the image I can say that I like it in a way. The color sceme is bright, but not retina-burning bright, mostly because you did a good job of complimenting the Asylum's colors. The text, like Suho said, is a bit fuzzy, so I'll reiterate it to you again: It's a bit fuzzy, and the size of the text could be either (a) a bit bigger) or (b) significantly smaller.

Thats all I have to say. I think.

And it's caching, yes...Well, I think. I've always assumed it was.

(I figured it must of been hosted from his site endingchaos)

There is something troubling me about that lettering, but I can't put my finger on it. It seems almost to be jaggy, but I look closely, and it's not. Since the background pattern seems so "casual", why not liven the image up a bit with a less casual border? A bit of transparency and irregularity along the edges might give it an extra kick in the pants.

The pattern is nice. Is it supposed to be wood?

Well I have to agree with HS on this. The choice of font could be a lot better.

If you could animate it and make the swirlly stuff in the bg move in a circle, that would be pretty cool.

Work on the font and see if you can animate it.

Not to be contrary, but I wouldn't recommend animating it. I think animating the background would just make it annoying. I think cutting some bits out of the rather plain edge would be best.

I still can't tell if it's wood or not. If it was, maybe making the letters look burned in would look nice?

That's odd... I could have sworn I posted here again. Or maybe I was just thinking about posting. Or maybe that was just a dream... I'm confused.

Anyway, the gist of my post was: cfb, don't take it too hard. What you wrote was my first instinct as well. Then I realized what the problem was.

You maybe could play with the border a little bit, too give it more "flair." Like, umm this. Just a suggestiong though..

The blak represents the pics border.

If my ideas horrible. Ignore me. Blah blah blahbl bahlbhl;ahv;lskcej;lkja;cljew

blahblahblahblah.

But, it's a nice sig anyways.
