Did something for CPrompt as a demo and liked it so much I thought about using it as a sig. Let me know what you think.

The fire needs some work. The sun looks pretty sweet though.

I would be happy with the sun by itself, to be honest with you. But I understand that it is a demonstration...

I would say the fire is too uniform, more contrast and slower frames would help also.

Ialso agree with suho that the sun on its own without animation would make a great sig. Maybe if it were animated only slightly with a shimmer perhaps.

By popular (?) demand, the sun without animated flames.

Mucho improved!

Just a suggestion, but you might try a diffrent color, like one just slightly off from silver, maybe a gold color, to to the highlights.

It's good as it is, but it might add a bit of variation to the color scheme.

(It looks kinda blurry on the lighter blackground)

Yah, but keep some of the silver, I guess. Whatever you want to do though. I was suggesting silver with a faint hint of gold in the highlights/lighter colors, or vice versa. Maybe it would give a bit of variety to the color scheme?

Anyways, nice work, and I really like it the way it is anywayts.

If I had to choose between the two color schemes, though, it would be a pretty hard decision, becuase they both look awesome.

Yup, yup, definitely like it much better.

The color doesn't really matter to me... both of those colors look fine, but the second likes a bit more sun-like, I suppose.

Hmm, I like them both too. Gold comes in many different shades and everyone will have a different opinion about how gold should appear. The silvery one is my standard gold color but the yellower one does seem to be more sun-like. I'll probably go with that one in the future.

However, I'll see if I can try cfb's suggestion. The challenge I am facing is that I created the sun and it's rays by painting two bump maps in my alpha channels. White for high, black for the low, and the grays for intermediate heights. The gold color is from my lighting settings (with an overlayed layer for the yellower one). So there is not a highlight layer like I would have if I had painted the sig.

Now how do I change the color of the highlight only *flips through the manual*....

Select>>Color Range. Click the eyedropper on a highlight in the image.
Play with the fuziness slider til it looks like you have them all, and feather the resulting selection by 1 or 2 pixels.
New layer...fill.
