Hmmm...good size, nice colours...no clashing there....no transparency, but oh well, that can be fixed.

But Oh My God...

412 Kilobytes in size? far too large...that sig will kill the 56Kers on this board. Please...taek it back to the animation program and chop it down...make it smaller. Reduce the bitrate or palette size if you have to, but please, reduce that file size.

412k? Which image are you looking at? The one I see is not even 40k. Maybe he already reduced the size...

There's a lot of blank spaced that could be removed, too. And yes, transparency is always nice.

I believe somebody downloaded a lot of *.PSD's . You've got Imageready down, I see.

What do the symbols mean? Do they represent they your name?

Also, little transparency couldn't hurt, I think.

my SIg~learn from here

so, exactly what am i supposed to learn from here? how to create an oversized, meaningless sig, created from somebody else's techniques, in a forum i'm not even involved in yet?

if you're topic title was not supposed to come across that arrogant, my apologies.

...and welcome, nonetheless.

got - great to hear, then my apologies do accompany that post, as it says.

well, i hope you learnt a lot from making that sig - now, the thing to learn is how to use those techniques in your own way.

I would say that he is using them in his own way, I've never seen anything like his sig, though I'm not exactly sure what it is?

Personally, while I think it is a good demonstration of the techniques, I don't think it works as a sig.

I think it would be best with just the symbols, aligned horizontally rather than vertically, with the fading checkerboard behind it, fading to transparent on the right side.

That would cut down on both the visual clutter and the slow loading (although the actual file size doesn't seem to be as large as has been noted above^, it does seem to choke up my connection/computer a bit.

Welcome to the Asylum!

First, the good stuff.

For a first time sig attempt it is amazing. A lot better than the filter-happy banners we usually see around here from the newest members. Got, you obviously spent a great deal of time studying Mahjqa's techniques. For that you should be applauded. The color, fire, clouds, perspective, and surrealness of the sig shows a great deal of talent.

Now, the bad stuff...

As a sig, it does not work. The size is too big. We like to keep the sigs around here around 65 pixels in height. You can go a little larger but you should keep it in mind. Your name is not defined. The combination of the beveled letters and the orange glow makes it hard to read. The floor does not work for me. Go with the either the checkboard pattern you have on the wall or a solid color but keep the lighting.

FAQ> 2D graphics> How do I create a graphic which looks like X?> Fire

And I'm not posting a link. Go look it up yourself.

I liked the first one better, to be honest with you. For all its flaws, it's still more sig-like than these...

Just way too bannerish, not to mention large (in terms of file size).

As for the first sig, I like DL's idea (just the characters, faded checker background). The inmates like the beauty and simplicity of letters. At least I do...

I'll learn something out of this site some day, wait and see...what softwares do you use to have them?
