Looks nice and good... the jaggies come from (I guess) the usage of a low-color palette (I guess you only used 4 colors) and the dithering method set to 'pattern'. I guess that you could increase the amount of colors, or set the dithering method to 'none'.

Dunno if this fixes the jaggies... The colors were 256... I'll have to play with that. The GIF palette had that silly "dither transparency" set on... apparently, it just assumed that's what I wanted...

I think this version is better...

Just so ya know - the symbol that makes up the "Bo" is the Hindu symbol for the word "Om", which is the sound made at the creation of the world... as well as being a commonly used mantra for meditation...

Great idea and well executed Bodhi.
I guessed it was the Mantra, Om you were referring to.
It's good to go now, but if you felt like tweaking it a bit more. The file size is small enough to add a few extra frames to the transition of the symbol "Bo" to make it a little smoother.

Also, I'm sure you could get away with far fewer colors than 256. You could probably get away with a master palette of 32 colors, I think.

It's nifty, though.

Considering there are only a couple of colors in it to begin with, probably less than that. But good point Suho...

Here we are - smoothed out some of the transitions, reduced the palette to 32 colors. Tell me if you notice a difference:



I sort of think the "OM" looks kinda jaggy... maybe bring it back up to 64 colors? Would that make a difference dya'think?

I sort of hink it would be better if you left the OM part out, and just had the symbol sitting there, until the other letters caught up to it.

I can decern a smoother transition. I think it looks fab' (heh haven't used that word in a while)
I has a look at the site you have done. Very nice work indeed, and I agree, you just got to put that rotator in use.

GN - I put the "OM" in there, because not everyone knows what the symbol means... I kind of like it, so I'm keepin' it

Tao-BB: you mean www.annbeckett.com? My first - a good effort, I thought, overall. Her artwork makes it better, I think. We're getting prepared to revamp the whole thing after our trip in July... It'll be even better!

'Preciate everyone's input - I'm working up enough to rotate them... I think 3 or more, and it will make more sense... rotating 2 seems silly....

Bodhi: I think the latest one looks fine. I don't detect much jagginess on the "OM" either--maybe you've just been staring at it for too long...

staring too long... yes - that happens sometimes!

I'll have to go look up the sig rotater script and see if I can figure how to use it...

I've been thinking about trying one for the wildlife theme, but I'm running out of time!
Having a hard time coming up with an appropriate critter!
