Many of us archive quite frequently petskull. Obviously you have not been, so by all means....jump in and help.

You may notice that we now have over 1600 members, many of them posting daily, which means many of the posts in those 9 pages are relatively new. Which means....not really a big problem. Just a lot of people here.

Just to be part of the moment, i'm doing my job in the MM forum.

Yah, with all the new members in the last months, even after I purge anything older than 30 days from the OZONE forum, it's still got 3600+ posts in it, crazy. For the most part we're in pretty good shape, the only two that are a bit out of hand right now are the BIG SIG forum and the DHTML forum. I try not to purge anything from the DHTML forum if I can help it, chances are that's where more useful posts live, neh?

It brings to mind the question of archiving the Site Reviews forum - as these are works in progress (often located in temporary webspace for testing purposes) it doesn't make an awful sense to archive them as the relevance can be lost within weeks.

DmS has made an interesting proposal over at the GN:

and it might make more sense extracting general points and integrating them into something broader. Any thoughts/guidance?

I've taken the approach that , if no one has posted to a thread in the Site Reviews forum, I archive the thread to misc archive. Relevance is one thing, but interest is another.

So... you're saying that you are archiving threads that have no responses to them?

yeah... I'm gonna hafta agree with taxon on this one...

not to mention urls in the site revs area are not exactly set in stone and I don't think there's really any point in archiving them......

...but I hardly ever go in there so what I think doesn't really matter...
