Jesus smoked pot?

If Jesus partook in the exquisite herb, what right does our government have to take it away from us?
Should we not all follow in the lord's footsteps and partake?

GN, how would you rate the credibility and the conclusions reached by that link?

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

the Bible can be construed to mean anything if you work hard enough at "finding" what you want to be true in it.
The same goes for the Quran, or any book of uncertain origin, translation, and interpretation.
UBL tried real hard to make the Quran fit his quest for blood, and he achieved it and convinced plenty of others.

These pro-pot people even go as far as pulling from the Gnostic gospels which the Catholic church even left out of canon.
So here's a question.
If the authority on Christianity (at the time of canon) wanted no part of those stories in their religion, why should the points from the Gnostic gospels hold any more weight on the modern christian population?

Though the topic is somewhat...smokey, what's all the fuss? Cannibis has been in the region for a very, very long time...and, as other cultures have shown, many 'herbs' (or mind altering drugs) have been used by the Priesthood/Medicine men/Shamans of just about all cultures...

*shrugs* Does it matter, whether or not Jesus smoked cannibis? That it was in the region at the time, is known. Whether or not he actually used it...who knows, and who really cares? I'm not sure of how #popular' cannibis was at that time...or of whether or not it was actually used in Hebrew rituals, as claimed in the article. Maybe I#ll do a little research on the history of Cannibis...

BTW - what ever happened to the Formal Debate on Drugs?

genis, your point is very well taken. There are reasons why the early "heresies" were branded as such. In fact, the NT itself contains admonitions against gnostic teachings.

WS, the article doesn't even claim that Jesus *smoked* it. It seemed to try to link the practice of annointing with oil with cannabis. Even if cannibis were used in that, it's a totally different application of the herb from what the page is advocating. Remember the NT teaches "not to be drunk with wine" and I think we can safely extend that to any other substance used to that end.

Oh, and that formal debate needs a serious jump start!

Gilbert, I was hoping you posted it as a joke Anyway, this reminds me very much of PETA arguments that Christ was a vegan! LOL. You've got to check the agenda of these groups first to see what may be taking priority in their claims.
