I was wondering if you could gat a ticket in a private parking lot with no moving cars and no direction of traffic for failure to see before turning from a direct line, by just skiding your tires a little bit I do not think it is possible.

I suppose you should probably contact your local police department and inquire with them.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Yes, but it depends on where you live. Follow DL's advice and check with the local police.

Yep, it just depends. Not the answer you were hoping for I'm sure.

OK, since everyone here apparently knows what lilcase is talking about here, does someone want to fill me in?

what I'd need is a little more description from lilcase to understand what he got the ticket for .. like what direction he was going .. was he pulling out of a parking spot .. was he going forward from a parking spot .. was the parking line he was going down the wrong direction? etc etc etc

Well...1st of all...does it really matter much?

2nd of all...it depends where you live.

3rd of all...if someone *did* actually get a ticket, then his/her question has already been answered: yes, it's possible.

If nobody has gotten a ticket, then this falls into the "most pointless question ever asked" category.

DL

I think even if someone got a ticket it still may win the award for the "most pointless question ever asked."

No, I think if the person has already gotten the ticket it would qualify as "the most pathetic question ever asked." I mean, come on--you got the ticket, and now you're going to a forum that you've never posted in before looking for justification that isn't going to do any good anyway? That is truly pathetic.

Hmm... maybe I'm being too harsh on lilcase... it is possible that he/she specializes in such obscure and pointless questions.

umm.... skidding tires can... eh... bring on the police. I have never been ticketed... but the police have converged on us and flash lights at us... for what its worth.

You do that, lilcase. Hopefully you'll be able to find another group of people with the same grasp of the English language that you have.

What I'm wondering is, can you get a ticket for just plain stupidity? 'Cause that would explain a lot of things...

I think I'm going to do that, Suho. I'll become the self-appointed stupidity police and give a ticket to every person who acts half-retarded. Of course, that's going to take a lot of paper.
