saw the movie just right now. pretty good one....really showed a true side of humanity.......

we dont relize anything until we fuck something up, really bad....then we start learning........and wondering....what were we thinking before?

When do you think we will start learning to *avoid* mucking things up in the first place?

haha ! never!!!

I know what you mean bugs...personally I didnt make any big mistakes...yet!

I always had a good control over myself, even with the harsh life in past....I managed to get through without drugs and stuff.....

well but I also got a negative effect from it, made me pretty much anti-social....

Now why would go and ask a silly question like that Bugs??

On the original topic - Monster's Ball is definately one of the best movies ever made. A perfect blend of quality writing/acting/directing and soundtrack.

can't say that i really liked it.

bit of a shock though - in swordfish, there was a big huzzah about halle berry showing her boobs, and then in this movie, she's a contender for the soft pawn industry...

it was dark, and real, but still... not that great in my opinion (although it was nice to see raymond barone's dad doing a serious role )

he's a fantastic actor.

It's such a shame he got lulled into that stupid show =(

jamie: yes, he is - which is why it was great to see him doing a serious role.

seeing actors do such a bad character well is very tough - you know that if you end up not liking them, they are doing a great job, but if they do too good a job, you really don't like 'em.

Wow, I've never even heard of this movie. I guess I need to start paying more attention...

It didn't really get a lot of publicity. Which is a shame. Despite reitsma's low opinion, it is a great film all around IMO. IT was nice to be reminded that Halle Berry *is* actually a good actress after tha sham that was Storm (X-Men).

Plus the 'soft porn' bit didn't hurt

Hmm... a lot of films don't seem to make there way over here, like that other one everyone was going on about... Danny Darko or something like that... I looked for that here but couldn't find it. I'll keep an eye out for this one, though, just in case.
