My mom bought some book called "Embrace by the light" by Betty J. Eadie

I havent red it yet, just a foreward...its pretty wierd.

its supposed to be a true story of a woman that "died" and came back to life, so this book is focused on hers description of afterlife.

a quote form a book's foreward

quote:
near-death experiences are not caused by the lack of oxygen to the brain, or drugs, or phycological stresses evoked by the fear of dying. Almost twenty years of scientific research has documented that these experiences are natural and normal process. We have even documented an area in the brain which allows us to have the experience. That means that near-death experiences are absolutly real and not hallucinations of the mind. They are as real as any other human capability; they are as real as math, as real as language.
It has only been 8 years since my research group at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital published this information in the American Medical Association's Pediatric journals. Although this research has been replicated by researchers throughout the world, includong the University of Florida, Boston Childrents Hospital, and the university of Ultrech in Netherlands, it is not yet widely understood by the general population. Unfortunatly, our society has not yet accepted the scientific advances in understanding the dying process which have occuedin the past 2 decades. We desperatly need to reeducate ourself that we are spirtual beings as well as biological machines. So many of our societies problems, incuding the crisis in health care, death with difnity, the cult of greed which has bunkrapted our economy, the national shame of homeless womenand children, all them from the lack of understanding that we are a spirtual beings who are mutually dependent on each other.

.....

I wouldn't say hoax or truth. I think what we should perhaps discuss is whether it is just a natural operation of our brain, releasing certain chemicals which cause us to see the tunnel and all of that, sort of like a hulicanation, or is it a real, after death experience in which the perciever actually crosses over to another physical realm.

I think, like your quote suggests, that it has been proven that people do see this stuff, so it is not a hoax, but seeing as how they have also found a region in the brain that produces these effects, then it may be just a by-product of the 90% of our brain that we do not use.

We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
