Many years ago, my father died. He basically killed himself. I was one of the lucky few that got to hold his hand as he passed away. His last few years were good. He knew his life's mistakes, and did his best to make ammends. He seriously turned his life around.

A few years ago, my maternal grandfather died. A grumpy ol' cuss that drank himself into the grave.

Now my maternal uncle is dead. He followed in his father's footsteps. Down to his last 10% of liver function, he passed away last night.

Isn't alcohol grand?

These three people are dead, but each at least a year or more to be saved. But the pigfuckers at the various alphabet agencies sit on their thumbs and impede progress. Each one of them could still be alive today.

I guess it goes both ways, though. People committing long-term suicide, and those that impede life-saving technology.

The single most precious thing in the world, and it gets pissed away. Please, don't let this happen to you and yours.

So how much does one need to drink to 'kill' himself?
I mean everyone drinks. Some more than others, is there a threshold? like <2 drinks a day?!
Im too lazy to do the research although I should... but then again, what else is this forum for if not to ask ppl random questions and expect coherent and not answers.

Extended drinking poisons the liver, kidneys, pancreas and other organ involved in the filtering of the blood and digestion. Basically, if you got totally smashed every day, after not even 3 years your liver and/or kidneys would shut down.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

asptamer: drinking alcohol is not bad, knowing your limit thats what important, every body is different, some can consume alot, other cant.

some people in France drink glass of vine everyday during the dinner and they live whole lot longer than average American. Why? it helps to stimulate the blood.

see alcohol is not bad.

you just have to know how much you need, or whats your limit.

ohh and btw, I don't drink...neither I like to.
so no, not everyone actually drinks dude.

Just got back from the viewing and I'm pretty worked up.

My mother has a problem with me not going to the funeral and she started her usual shit with me. We almost had it out big time right there in front of the casket.

For the first time in over 5 years, I actually want to drink a beer.

I gotta go calm down.

wj, please know that we are thinking/praying for you during this. Death comes knocking into all of our lives sooner or later and it's hard to know how bad it is for the next person who is going through it. I have not lost anyone really close to me yet but it is only a matter of time. If you get too worked up over it all, please remember that we're all pulling for you on this end.

I don't know, man. I can't believe this is going back to issues my mother and I have. She runs a great deal of her life on non-sequiturs that have no hold on me. I get frustrated when she tries to impose them on me, and she gets frustrated when I don't go for it. We will have it out one of these days. Confrontation is good, but I've been too polite these past few years.

Well, I found out that my Uncle Jose has also died. He died yesterday, a day after the uncle that started this thread. Yes, also alcohol.

Fucking basterds. I just want to scream at these assholes. Wake up! Get a life!

Bugs, if things go well this next decade or two, you won't have to deal with it for a *very* long time or even at all. Maybe one of these days we'll talk about biological immortality and Christians and things.

I am feeling better, so I think I'll go pay a visit to some other threads.

Last year, a student in my year level got stupidly drunk, stole a car (no driving permits or anything) and killed himself.

I wish we could work out why people do such stupid and pointless things such as that to themselves. Does drinking yourself to death make you a better person? Is that why so many of our young people today are doing so; because they believe their ability to withstand the effects of alcohol equals increased social status?

*sighs

I'm far too pessimistic.
