When I try to save a document as a PDF-file in Quark Xpress
I get the message:

"Acrobat Distiller Printer Description File is not currently installed.
A Generic PPD will be used instead"

Why is that and what can you do about it?
(I have "Adobe Acrobat" and "Acrobat Distiller" on my computer...)

Acrobat distiller is looking for it's .ppd file, If it cant find it a generic version will be used. Which in most cases is not a problem unless you want some custom paper size or print features.

I would use the adobe postscript driver and ppds, go to
http://www.adobe.com/products/printerdrivers/installmacppd.html

You should find all you need there.
