ok, i've got a cd cover i did all the photo and graphic work for in ps 5.5, i've converted to cmyk and saved it out as a flattened psd so i can bring it into illustrator and add my text. however, after placing the psd in my illustrator cd template it looks far more reddish/orange than it does in photoshop. is this just a display glitch or do i need to adjust my colors in ps? i've never noticed this issue before so its a bit odd. thanks.

This could be a glitch but i could be a problem with the cmyk conversion too.
In ps check the help about color managment an do the same for Illustrator now make shure they both use the same specks. It should be better also you could try to make the cd cover in cmyk color mode in photoshop instead of converting it when it'd ready. Furthermore you could try to export the photoshop rgb file to illustrator and convert it there. But sometimes the colors managment is a beast. Even when it looks good on both programs there is still no garantee about the printed version.... heck on some digital printers "dark blue on monday"is slightly greener than the "dark blue on thuesday".....
