I started by turning it 90 degrees clockwise, cause who am I to counter against the wisdom of a clock. I tried to keep to the spirit of your original serve; raw brush strokes with a touch of ambiguity and abstraction. I took a slice out of the middle of your serve (the parallel sided bit) and I used Filter -> twirl with some quite small twirl angles. I find that twirls work best if I select a rectangle or square around the object to twirl. Then, to get the more squiggly ones I offset the twirl's bounding rectangle rather than twirling things that are centred. When they're offset towards the sides of the rectangle they swirl into more interesting shapes ... after that it's just copy, blend, fill and opacity. I'm just completely at a loss with your last serve ... It was too good to miss, and the permutations just kept on coming and coming .. I always did have an eye for the macabre ... but that thing just appeared by itself after a series of layer duplicate and blend operations and a couple of ch-ops ... I think it's a haunting !!

Whee .. I didn't know !what! to expect after my last serve, and you did it again .. the expected unexpected .. Great return Frax. I had to break my own self-imposed rule of not adding any extra data this time .. but I needed those few lines and dots just to give it some sense of scale ...

Hey Frax, Ar you serious? ... well if not ... I fell for it ...

I took a slice out of the middle of your serve (the parallel sided bit) and I used Filter -> twirl with some quite small twirl angles. I find that twirls work best if I select a rectangle or square around the object to twirl. Then, to get the more squiggly ones I offset the twirl's bounding rectangle rather than twirling things that are centred. When they're offset towards the sides of the rectangle they swirl into more interesting shapes ... after that it's just copy, blend, fill and opacity.
