Are you sure you've read the guidelines exoeight? Rules and Guidelines
My interpretation of these is that we manipulate an image, and not just introduce another image (eg, the face). Now, I am willing to play to any guidelines you care to set, but for the sake of continuity we need to be "playing on the same court" at least, don't you think?
No biggie tho' ,,,'tis very understandable, and I do like the image you sent back.
My return will be soon.
I had a look at the link you gave in the thread "serious competion" but I could not find any examples of "pong" type images there.

If you go to www.angryblue.com then click on Gallery at the top navigation, then click on "Battles" when the page loads. I'm playing this based on the way it's been done there.

If it's alright, I would like to continue like this. Introduce any image you would like. Just as long as something from the previous image is kept.

righty o exoeight, I think I see what you mean?
I'm just loading the page "Dubtastic and Angryblue2" atm. I'm on a 56kdialup so I thought I'd post this while I was waiting for it to load.
It's a style (of Pong) I haven't used before, and an element to the game, I hadn't considered.
(Actually the one that I am looking at now mentions in their intro that the images used could only be photos they have taken themselves. Shall I presume that this is not what you mean. As you said any image?)
Please excuse my ramblings here, but I think it is important that we both know what the parameters are. Heh, I like to know what the rules are, so I know the precise moment when I "bend" them
While I am assimilating the examples you have pointed me to. Why not pop over HERE To get an idea of previous Pong games here at the Asylum. Or check out the Asylums Pong archives.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm quite happy to adapt to any "form" of Pong.

I did have a "return" that I was going to post, but it's not at all in the style you are suggesting. I'm only now researching and learning all about photoshop PONG, photoshop Battles, and all the different versions.
Actually, the game is not as universal as one might think, it seems to be very forum spacific.

If you register at http://www.graphic-forums.com/ you'll get access to a forum called "the battle grid."

I think I found my home. I've been trying to battle all over other forums, but people kept on getting confused or mad at me and I couldnt figure out what i was doing wrong. Go figure. For some reason all the changes I did didn't qualify, which makes no sense to me. It was a change, and still creative right? Silly me.

Now I know why, that is the forum I should be at. If you want, we can do this battle, but if it isn't what you're accustomed to or interested in let me know. ^_^

Ok got it. I had to change the url of the psd from /round03.psd. to /round3.psd, befotre it would download. (just in case anyone else was having problems)
I'll get to work later today.

I really liked your last serve exoeight, great composition.
Here is my latest effort, I'm enjoying the game, 'tis a good exercise trying out styles and methods seldom, if ever used before.

hah, thats a cool return. I'm gonna have fun with this one. hehe.

The blue-ish fire.. thingy... the best way I can think of explaining that right now, is, I took the red fire, I changed the HUE with Image>Adjust>Hue/Sat.
Then I changed the Curves, and some airbrushing, with the brush settings set to 15%-30% flow, and linear dodge. The linear dodge really came in handy for the lil glowing orb things.
