Your prettier than I would have thought (unless you are images 2 and 3 from the first set).

On a more serious note it might be a good idea to have the permission of the people who are having their pictures posted here.

I just knew Dan (WarMage) wouldn't mind... we go wayyy back

... and, great work, tomeaglescz! You do this for a living, or just happened to have an opportunity of shooting for a modeling agency?

[edit]

Emps:
This issue has actually come up in my photography class. According to my professor, you dont need a permission of the model to display your photgraph (in the sense that you took it), as long as you do not misrepresent the setting. For example, if I wrote that Dan's picture is really Jon's picture, then Dan could probably sue me. But I guess we could go ahead and ask this in the other silliness forum to see what people actually think about it, and maybe get some legal urls: )

Asptamer:

Thanks for the compliments, and in answer to your question, yes I am a professional photographer. I work freelance for several model agencies and Magazines. The biggest job i had last year was Two weeks of shooting models non stop, I also do wedding photography and portfolio shoots for models. I also do a lot of post shoot work on photographs for the agency's and some magazines.

Recently i have been working as a video cameraman for a couple of production companies.

The work is varied for pure fashion to glamour to wedding and portrait photography, depending on which agency i am working for, The biggest challenge is working outside with models, studio work requires a different skill set completely.

Dropping back onto the subject of a subjects permission to use pictures of them in a public enviroment such as an online gallery, the only advice i can give you from my own experience is let them know you are going to do it first, they may have posed for the photo, but may not neccesarily be happy with it being on display.

All models i have shot are required to sign a model release even if it is just for the purpose of appearing on a model agency's website or casting books. This relinquishes their rights to the images and assign them to you as the photographer or the agency. Without recieving that permission could end up with you facing some kind of civil action as you mentioned. It does happen very frequently.

So the best thing i can say is for anyone displaying portraits of someone in the public domain, ensure that you have the subjects permission before displaying the image, you may feel that you are in the right but all the person did was agree to pose for a photo, it can and has often been percieved as an intrusion of privacy when photographers have gone that extra step and used that photo in a public display.

Anyway back to your work, you have some nice pictures going there, the one thing i tend to do when shooting portrait photo's besides the classic head on shot is to shoot several from separate angles as you can see from some of the pictures in the gallery there is only 1 photo that is shot 100% head on.

Anyway if there's ever anything you want to ask my contact details are in my profile here.

thanks again for the input.

I sure as hell hope this cell block doenst go down the tubes like some others....

So for a final bump bump bump....OI you bunch of slackers stop commenting and start posting some portraits ya have 24 hours from now to post something

I guess I'm one of those people who are having trouble accessing ur gallery. It's DOWN.

And as far as the "thin side" goes, I think people are reluctant to post because of the comments made by some (ahem EMPS... Ahem) about the perission thing. hmm Do you think that journalists take bush's permission every time they take a picture of him making a hillarious face-expression? One thing is working with models, another is posting some pics on a forum. I still dont understand what the difference is, but if u say one needs a permission slip signed for that - ok... I still think it's more fun when u dont have permission (as long as u dont get sued) : )

I've just been to the Portrait Gallery in London. They had a great photographic self-portrait exhibition where non 'artists' made pieces which they felt captured who they are. Sometimes the photographers weren't even in their own self-portraits! Swivel on it!

Ah no, you're all wonderful human beings.

I thought asptamer's portaits of poeple he's had "the pleasure to know" were pretty cool.
