![]() WOW cyoung! Mad props on that 'frost' shot... is it merely a close up of a successfully frosted window, or were there skills and technique involved in achieving the pattern? Please share. Also very curious about the black snow on the first shot... looks more like sand to me, but if u say its snow - it's snow.... just very curious how you achieved it : ) |

![]() asptamer- Thanks. The frost pattern was courtesy of mother nature. The photo was taken looking out a north facing window in the morning. The blue color is from the sky and the browns are from the winter grass. As I recall I had to angle the cam down somewhat to get the blue from the sky which made a tripod mandatory since I needed a long exposure to keep everything sharp that close. Snow ~does~ look like sand if you look closely. Moreso when it's really cold. The warm tone throws people off I think, but I liked it better warm than cool so I gave it the sepia. The shot was just a good exposure shot directly toward the sun more or less. Levels, curves, sharpen, desaturate, sepia.. yup, that sums it up. |
