These are two macro shots of a wasp, made with my Pentax Optio 550 on my mother`s Balcony in Berlin last summer.

First one is just cropped from the original:

Second one was significantly enhanced by resampling and channel operations because the contrast and colors were not good - how do you like it?

I hope you can see the images - I can´t try from another machine right now.

I really like the first shot. It's flawless.

I couldn't have done those - I have a fear of stinging insects.

another thing that suks about living in a huge city is that there arent many insects around. I mean there are, but they're either annoying houseflies or are paranoid enough not to come close to anything that is bigger than it and is capable of sudden motions (such as human). I miss the old days of the countryside and all kinds of exotic species buzzing around. too bad I didnt have the digicam back then : )

[edit] whoa since when did ozoneasylum start censoring stuff !?!?!? how come I didnt get the memo ?@!?!?! : ) and why is the word "s u x" a censored word now?!

Those are great ! I'm too scared to get near the wasp.

Macro is great. I've found the big black & yellow bumblebees could care less if you get near them and they stay covered in yellow pollen which makes for a great macro.

This is a grasshopper I put in the fridge first to chill him out a bit then put him on the plant. Then it's back into a jar in the fridge for about 15 minutes for more photos or I release them back into someone elses yard

This is the bumblebee covered in pollen.
