I can't remember the name of it but it was a phoney news show and at the end of every show they had a little Sniglets clip. Sniglets were made up words for various phenomena. I loved that show!

Here are some examples:

1. AQUADEXTROUS (ak wa deks'trus) adj. Possessing the ability to turn
the bathtub tap on and off with your toes.

2. CARPERPETUATION (kar'pur pet u a shun) n. The act, when vacuuming,
of running over a string or a piece of lint at least a dozen times,
reaching over and picking it up, examining it, then putting it back
down to give the vacuum one more chance.

3. DISCONFECT (dis kon fekt') v. To sterilize the piece of confection
(lolly) you dropped on the floor by blowing on it, assuming this will
somehow 'remove' all the germs.

4. ELBONICS (el bon'iks) n. The actions of two people maneuvering for
one armrest in a movie theater.

5. FRUST (frust) n. The small line of debris that refuses to be swept
onto the dust pan and keeps backing a person across the room until he
finally decides to give up and sweep it under the rug.

6. LACTOMANGULATION (lak' to man gyu lay' shun) n. Manhandling
the "open here" spout on a milk container so badly that one has to
resort to the 'illegal' side.

7. PEPPIER (peph ee ay') n. The waiter at a fancy restaurant whose
sole purpose seems to be walking around asking diners if they want
fresh ground pepper.

8. PHONESIA (fo nee' zhuh) n. The affliction of dialing a phone
number and forgetting whom you were calling just as they answer.

9. PUPKUS (pup'kus) n. The moist residue left on a window after a dog
presses its nose to it.

10. TELECRASTINATION (tel e kras tin ay' shun) n. The act of always
letting the phone ring at least twice before you pick it up, even
when you're only six inches away.

------------------------------------------------------------
One of my favorites...

11.. ESSO ASSO (ess o ass o) n. The person who cuts through the lot of a gas station to avoid a stoplight.

Assperbareperpairperfection (ass per bare per pair perfection)

When you tip the aspirin bottle, and get exactly 2 pills in your hand.

Yep, I remember the show, but not the name of it. I think it was on Showtime. I wish I could remember the word they had for when you mail a letter in one of those mail boxes where you have to pull open the door to put the mail in, but it doesn't drop down until you close the door. Then almost everyone opens the door again to check and make sure the mail really fell into the box. (I'm guilty of it.)

Rich Hall!
'Fridays' I believe. The show that gave us a froetaste of Kramer, his character "battleboy' was much deeper and more entertaining than even Kramer is (in a Beavis sort of way). And what aboot Mark Blechman as the tweeked pharmacist. That show was alright...

What ever happened to these guys?

Way to go JK. Good memory!!

lots of them, such as:

Caffidget (ka fij' it) - v. To break up a Styrofoam coffee cup into several hundred pieces after consuming its contents.

Prema-cheerio or Toodle-oops - n. The uncomfortable silence shared by two people after they've said good-bye to each other and continue to walk together out of necessity. (Scott Ellis)

Kedophobia (ked oh fo' be uh) - n. The fear of having one's sneakers eaten by the teeth on the escalator.

I never saw the show but I was confronted with this word a few weeks ago:

floccinaucinihilipilification

This one looks like it would fit well in the list but this is actually a *real* word!!! Can you believe it? Look it up.

I believe it was called Not Necessarily the News. I owned all the Sniglets books. Don't know where they got off to...
