Ok, here goes. This is the first time I have posted any of my work on a BB, so here ya go! Its not entirely finished but getting there. How do you feel about the different color bg's for skiing, rafting, and kayaking?
Too drastic of a color change for the eye? Also, how does the font read?

I know, I know I forgot to design a "home" button. Just realized it!

Thanks

Okay, the Adventure font used for the Indian Jones typeface is good. I used the same font and colours for a site just a while ago..heh.

The signposts on the left seem a bit flat when compared to that cartoony feel though. I'd suggest changing the colour of the font, and the typeface, so it looks a bit more scrawled on, or carved roughly into the wood...and saturate the wood itself more to stop the hazy beige/grey.

The background colour changes aren't too bad..but I'd suggest a change in the signpost of each section when you're actually ON it, so that people automatically see what section they're at presently.

Other than that, it's a fun feel...far from done though, so it's hard to judge the result.

Not much help..but I hope it's some.

Hey man, thanks. This is my fourth website, and I tried to apply some of Doc's lighting effects (signpost).

Good suggestions and I will follow through on them. Regarding the bg colors, "The background colour changes aren't too bad"- should I just make all the bg's the same tan color ? I would like to design "out of the box" a bit and give the user a better feel for rafting, skiing, kayaking and I thought by using colors as association of the activities, it would be a better look.

I agree, it is tough to judge this thing, since it isn't quite finished yet. I plan on feathering some really cool pictures. . . . kayaking on blue page, rafting pix on brown, and skiing on white. Sounds good, but I have to make it a reality!!

Thnx again

I like it so far -- nice feel to it all. Gotta agree with DG about the signposts -- they are nice, but a bit dull next to the bright header logo.

I think the background color change is a good enough concept, but I thnk these changes are a little too extreme. Maybe a blue that's not so strong and primary, you know?

All in all, nice start <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/biggrin.gif">

Nice site, I like it. It has a comfortable feel to it. Ya know what it reminds me off ... a cross between one of the Docs interfaces and Marks(DBM) freebie interface. It looks good though. I pretty much agree with everything that was said, although Im not a big fan of the Indiana Jones like logo. I think you should use something a little bit litter and desert looking ...

Cool.

I really appreciate all the comments. The overall consenses is that I have to do some more work on the signpost, and find a quieter blue for the kayaking bg.

Regarding the Indiana Jones logo- not my idea. It is what the client is using in his brochures and t-shirts. If I can develop an overall concept consistant throughout the site, then I think it could be effective.

Thanks for all the input.

Very much like older Doc work. As far as I am concerned that is as good a complement as any. Keep it up.

Clean and well-implemented. I am not a big fan of changing background colors, but at least you have a reason to do so. Tone down the saturation on them and it will be okay. The one thing I would suggest graphic-wise is to blur the drop shadow behind the sign post ever so slightly.
