Ok...this is not a new site but I have made some changes...

Tell me about the color scheme and the typography....I know the images are bad, I'm going to fix it..

Textured beige, with saturated blue, and grey/steel graphics. It seemed to REALLY clash for me Rick. Of course it's only important that you like it, but personally, I'd lose the textured beige, fast, and look at something other than the brushed metal/grey. I know, I'm not commenting on the graphics..I'm implying the colours <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

The first page was a cute effect..but since it didn't have any splash to show, or reason for loading, it seemed kind of pointless to me. That's just opinion of course, since it probably wouldn't annoy people like it did me.

The content type seemed fine, good size etc.

eek! sorry, but .....yeah that beige is bad. Especially since the page loads with a black bgcolor. Always specify a matching bgcolor <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

The buttons: I assume those are supposed to be aligned vertically? They appear to be "stackable" but were spread across the page with no apparent pattern.

Always specify image width and height too -- it will help loading time and will keep the page properly aligned during loading, so people can read the text without the page moving around as it loads <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/biggrin.gif">

The actual content looks fine....well layed out.

oh yeah..the "splash" page -- although it was a little pointless, it took a fraction of a second to load, so it didn't annoy me <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/biggrin.gif">

the only thing I would have to say is that once one left your main page there were no firther buttons for navigation?. meaning I had to us my browsers back button... not that that is a major problem... just I prefer to use links from the pages themself..

The bg colour is a bit off too... but its a subjective thing.. I liked your philip headed screws...

The beige maybe could stay but not with the blue.

Philips are star shaped, sloted are the plain flat ones, Robinson are square. I would think a number 2 Robinson to be exact..

The brushed metal plate is quite well done. The rollover isn't quite right, though. It looks like the words are supposed to sink into the metal on rollover, but instead, the bevel rises around the letters (which don't move). Looks really bizarre. If the rollover image was shifted down and left just a bit, the effect would look quite nice. The buttons themselves are very nice; most people don't use something subtle like a stencil effect on brushed metal.
My main problem with the page texture is the scale. It looks way too big to me. Maybe if it was reduced to 25%?
Definitely kill the deep blue if you're going to keep the tan/beige background.
Oh, and I, like vogonpoet, found it kind of irritating to lose the navbar on all the sub-pages.

welp i liked it myself especially his being humble about hows he's not being in any compatition ect...

SOME of you guys comments are a lil scary *shrug* belive me im pretty straight foward being origionally from BROOKLYN NYC. Im sure ric will eventually come into his own about colors textures ect ...

i liked the front page myself just to be able to do that effect wuz cool to me. but im no c++ .java .perl. ect- wutever master myself ...

Yes, the fact that the navigation menu disapear is a little bit annoying. Should use frame (for exemple) to keep it here.

Yeah, the brused plate is coool! The rolover is cool for me, too.

I was staring at the first page for at least half a minute waiting for something to happen, before I realized I was supposed to click the name. But then I guess I can't blame you for that <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif">
I agree that the rollover buttons feels like they are going the wrong way.
The blue square with the text I think is good, with the "what's new" column to the right, and I like the colours used for the text and links.
I was going to say also that the date showing at the bottom is wrong, but then I realized that is my computer. It didn't agree with the year 2000, so it still thinks it's 1999 <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/eek.gif">
