Hi everyone, you, all great bulakalala of Great Graphism God!

I have posted my site's URL for review some days ago, and I feedbacked only 2 answers... thanks to twitch and vogonpoet whose opinion really cheered me!

I'm sorry for that fact - all contents in french - but I am not able to translate it in english due to my poor mastering of this langage. Really sorry... but I must say that the content is not really interesting... just resume about life at school and opinion of people on they respective way in studies.

So, as far as design is concerned, no one gave me a "that is not good!" remark. I can't believe that EVERYTHING is cool!

I was just joking about my frenchy origin, because i did not seen many frenchy around... and that's not becuz ozone is not known here,many french designer and web creators know him and his site is often visited.
By the way, I'm just surprised they don't get more involved in this forum...(Jesus, I think I am making close to 100 english grammar errors in one sentence... pleze, forgive me!)

Hu.... I don't want to insist with that, but, ... anyone has (even a little thing) noticed something wrong with my page??? I've seen many great wonders in this forum, and they were sometimes wiped... I can't believe my humble page is better than that!

Hah, I beleive you mean your "French" origin, not "Frenchy" - Frenchy sounds kinda funny =)

Other than that, by the way, your english really isn't that bad. Only an occasional wrong word or something. Maybe it's not good enough to translate a really important web page, but it's more than fine for general communication with others.

The scroller is kind of annoying; if my mouse leaves it even a little bit then I lose control of it and start selecting things. I don't really like that.

Also, it takes a bit of time to load, but maybe that's explained ahead of time in French. =) (I'm in an AP French class... I should be able to read it... but I didn't.)

You also need some better anti-aliasing in there. There are a lot of "jaggies."

Otherwise, it's pretty good.

I agree with your remarks, slime...
- I know that the scroller sometimes get annoying sometims (if you rip, or scroll too fast, you get in selecting things...), but I spend a lot of time trying to improve this, and obviouslty failed... I'll try to find a solution, anyway!
- I always have problems with anti-aliasing...... I posted my personnal URL a long time ago (http://OMERA.FREE.FR) were I was presenting a little bit of my artwork and HTML-integration skills, and I was blamed for my lack of goodlookingantialiasing.
I thought with asalyc.free.Fr that I've had improved, but obviously not enough... <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/frown.gif">

Where did you noticed jaggy effects? I see some garbages in one corner or two, but not so visible...

Let's see... jaggies:

The edges of images are the worst. Look just to the left of the scroller - see all those little black dots where the image ends and the background begins? That's one example, they're all around the edges of images. The edge of the menu on the left, however, doesn't seem to have this problem.

Also, inside the menu, all the one-pixel bevels - like around the buttons and the curved lines through the buttons - all have some AA problems.

Unfortunately, I'm not a PS user, so I don't really know how to *solve* this problem...

I'd like to post a review but I got to 97% on the preload page (after several mins..even on cable) and then it just stopped...Now I can't reload it..think maybe the servers are down there..I'll try again in a few mins..

Yay yay there we go.

Aside from taking awhile to load..it's a pretty spiffy lil layout! =) I like it aside from the loadtime and and it being in French :P

I like that design overall. Blue is my favorite color so I like the scheme. Although, I noticed that on a couple of the sections of the interface there are some small jaggies on the edge you might want to clean up.

The loading time is a strange problem: some people have no problem loading the page (me, for exemple, with a 44400bds modem, take only 20 secs to load!!!!) and others are experiencing really loooonggg loading time.
I guesse it a server problem???

IE 5.5 here, works fine. I still wish the scroll bar worked when the mouse leaves it, and there are still jagged edges, but other than that I really like the design. No loading problems for me at all.

i see requirements on the opening page. try to avoid those, especially confusing ones like javascript versions! not everyone is net savy (even i dont know which javascript versions are in which browsers). though, i think "optimized for" is ok to say (much better than a requirement).

overall, the graphics are very attractive, and the layout is clean. im not crazy about the pale tan color you used and i think it would look a bit better if it was more of a gold/flesh tone.

i see mystery meat navigation, unfortunately (like french descriptions would help me much anyways). many people dont like searching for buttons. in the lower right corner, you have icons there (very frustrating! what i might think a clipboard is would be different than what you think it is). some alt tags would certainly help there, though id avoid icons all together.

the menu on the left is more mystery meat!

aside from that, i think it looks realy good :-)

Retouched with PS. Cool, no? <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif"> : I must confess that I didn't tried the site under Netscape 4.04... you have javascript errors? Can you give me precisions about them, please? I'm sad it didn't load well.. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/frown.gif">
For Netscape users: I've experienced strange behaviours with this navigator (It seems it have a problem with image preloaded in the version 4.6 and 4.7, don't know why. The rollover make NN crash??? And the some CSS properties drives him mad... Adding a <P> tag sometimes kills the WHOLE layout!!! NN is definetly a strange platform for dynamic developpers...)
-SLIME : The fact that when the mouse leave the image area break the focus on the elevator annoys you?? Would rather a Windows elevator behaviour? .. hum.. I think I should code that, you are right.

My tan doesn't look good? As far as I'm concerned, I like it! I don't think gold/flesh color would be better... bah, I will try and see!
For the alt tag, yeah, you are right. Should add that. Icon are as confusing as you said? I find them easy to understand(?), and I tried to make the description in french as clear as possible. You didn't get them? But yeah, I admit it's a little bit a personal choice and it may be confusing... I will poll my frenchy users and see what they think a bout it!

I agree with you when you say that such 'symbols' are not good because that they are subject to different interpretation. But how the hell can a letter be seen like something else than a letter, or a mail? But okay, I've used bad signs.
