What do the homies think of this one?
I've been trying to build 3d perspective skills.
Don't hold back - I want the truth.

The idea is great and what you have so far is a good start. You need to get rid of the jaggies and add some more detail to the train. In fact, a smoke stack would be at the top of the list of things to add.

Other than that, nice.

Jaggies gotta go, but I don't know that you need a smokestack. The entire train is very stylized and chrome-looking, and the smoke trailing back already suggests the smokestack without breaking up the line of the train body.

Hard to tell, though... so very many jaggies! If you take those out, we can see your vision a bit better.

Definitely a cool idea!

Thanx!

>You need to get rid of the jaggies and add some more detail to the train.
Those jaggies are gonna be the death of me - In this sig, it's the edge of
lower portion of the wheels (which are of course transparent) - I blended
out the upper portion, but I guess sometimes you have to do some
things manually.

Yeah, I toyed with it, but couldn't get the perspective right - I'll
keep goofing with it. Thanks again.

reminiscent of the Adobe Streamline logo but more slick looking. I don't think the large wheels would be totally exposed.

Edit: UBB code snafu.

I like the train. It`s got that *50`s train of the future* thing goin on. Maybe slope the nose down to partly cover the front wheels, ( they`re a tad high ) to complete the streamlined look.
It would flow better if you set your text on the same perspective.

Good idea, good start.

If you try to fail and succeed, which have you done ?

threep sees kevins comment 'Don't hold back - I want the truth', and decides to be melodramatic.
"THE TRUTH? YOU WANT THE TRUTH! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"
he regains his composure, and decides to say something remotely useful:
"i like the train, its real cool - the wheels have some jaggy action going on, the bar going across the wheels looks a little misaligned, the start thingy on the back wheel looks outta place, but all in all, i really like it"
3p regains his breath, and posts away.

jaggies!
and leave away the ground! the one single line there!
maybe you could make the font gray, which would fit better to the rest of the image!

Okay-
Followed the advise;

1.. no jaggies (as muchas was easily possible)
2.. no lines above the nameo
3.. little more detail to the traino

edit: whoops! forgot-- Also put the wheels in back of the train body -
that really helps the perspective. Dunno if I'll use this regularly, but it
was fun to make. Thanks guys [edit: and possibly gals :-)].
