Preserved Topic: automatic email (Page 1 of 1)

My boss wants me to set up the website so automatic emails are sent to customers for birthdays, holidays, repeat customers- basically pretty specific for each group of targeted customers.

I do not have too much experience with back-end programming- but some knowledge of Perl. Can Perl acomplish this? If not, can it even be done?

Yes, PERL can do that (and much more). And the script can be called automatically from crontab (Linux timer daemon) every day...
