I have that problem, we are writing comercial scripts and our ISP get them for free, change file and variable names and has its "own" scripts.

how to protect our scripts from ISP?

Get a box an put it in your companies main building and then set up a server on that box and give it a connection to the outside world, then set up the DNS and redirect your website to that box. The one and only way to do it.

Or just a get a more trustworthy ISP.

But mage is right that's about the only solution you have.

why do you want to protect them?
if you do it for a company(commercial) just say they should copyright it. then when the isp uses them, you can accuse them.

if you have apache, you can deny access to the scripts from 127.0.0.1
either that, or sue their asses. or drop 'em.

And ask Bitdamaged for a recommendation for a new host.

You could also have Pugzly host your site. Running Wolf is an awsome host, just look at the GN.

All of these ideas are good, but really, vote with your feet and your wallet and change ISPs, these people do not deserve your business. Many internet providers go out of their way to be more ethical than the rest of them, but if these folks are doing this kind of stuff to their own clients, then get the hell out of there! My 2 kronor.

Yeah the encoder would help but it's pricy
Switch your ISP and save yourself the problems.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.
