Hi... I have very little experience with DHTML or javascript, and have spent hours trying to find a way to make a menu within an image map.

You know, like... when you mouse over the area(s) specified in the image map, a navigation menu comes down. Like I said, I've spent hours upon hours searching the web on how to do this, but have found nothing. Plenty on images maps and drop-down menus, but nothing about both of them combined.

So. If you guys could help me, that would be great. If not, guess I'll keep searching. =P

Thanks,
XionNova

XionNova: Hi,
If you look at the the MAP and AREA elements in the HTML 4.01 Specification, you'll see that the area element can have the %events attributes, which are described here and include all the common events such as onclick, onmouseover, onmousedown, ... Thus, you can add the DHTML stuffs in the area elements.

Hope that helps,

o0o0o thanks. So I want a onmouseover event... but like I said, I have little knowledge or experience with DHTML. *cough*

I can add the onmouseover event, but would be lost after that. I'm sure there's some free DHTML menu code somewhere lying around, it's just a matter of finding it. =P

Check How do I make a cross-browser menu system? to find some DHTML menus and some previous threads on the subject.
[edit] cool, I didn't knew if the [ ## ] ubb code detected the type of thread ( Faq, normal thread, archived thread ... ) and put the appropriate image. [/edit]
