Waking the Asylum

The morning gently whispers,
as the the first light paints the sky,
and in answer to its' greeting,
I stretch, then blink and sigh,

Hmm, not feeling very poetic atm, but since noone else has replied and I do enjoy poetry I'd rather reply with something less than spectacular than see it die. :

I peer around my prison
with an ever watchful eye
looking for some solace
and an answer as to why

dawn's peaceful quiet is broken
by a cry, a laugh, a scream,
the maniacal wakeup call
ending each inmate's dream.

as he warms up the electrodes,
and prepares to make us well.
