Topic awaiting preservation: Micro Smilies Anyone?? (Page 1 of 1)

Does anyone know how to make micro smilies? I have text at 11px on my site and I was trying to make some emoticons but if their too big they look weird on the page and too small then you can't see a thing... anyone know how to make them, just right or something like that??

two tips i can give you:

1) work in the final resolution. if they are going to be 10x10, then work on a 10x10 canvas, don't try to make 40x40 then shrink.
2) work with two windows open on the one image - one zoomed in to work at it pixel by pixel, one actual size (1:1, 100% whatever) so you can see the end result of what your pixel pushing is acheiving.

maybe some little shading would be nice, perhaps a litte more detail if possible...but overall they look pretty good

I think they're fine. Trying to cram too much detail into such a small graphic isn't always a good idea. Keep it simple.

Excellent work for such a small size!
